Privacy Choices
The gist: Every permission CrumbDB asks for is optional and can be taken back. The data it records lives in your own iCloud account and you can delete it from inside the app. The anonymous usage data it sends us can be switched off. Nothing here needs you to contact us, but you can.
Permissions
CrumbDB asks for access to Photos, Location, Health, and Notifications. You can decline any of them during setup, and you can change your mind later in your device’s Settings app: Settings, Privacy & Security for Photos, Location, and Health, and Settings, Notifications for alerts. On a Mac, the same controls are under System Settings, Privacy & Security.
Turning off Location stops the app recording where you’ve been. Turning off Photos stops it reading or writing your library. The app keeps working with whatever you leave on.
Your location history
Location records and imported workout routes are stored in your private iCloud database. To delete them, open CrumbDB’s Settings and tap Delete All Location Records. That removes them from this device and from iCloud, so your other devices lose them too.
If you delete the app before doing that, the data stays in iCloud until you remove it: on your iPhone, Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage, then find CrumbDB.
Locations written to photos
Any location CrumbDB applies to a photo is written through Apple’s Photos framework, which keeps the original. To undo one, open the photo in the Photos app, tap the info button, and choose to revert the location, or use Revert to Original from the edit screen.
Usage data
CrumbDB sends us anonymous usage events so we can see what’s working. To stop it, open CrumbDB’s Settings and turn off Share Usage Data. Anything queued but not yet sent is dropped the moment you do. What was already sent contains nothing that identifies you, so there is nothing to ask us to remove.
Notifications
Turn off New Match Alerts in CrumbDB’s Settings, or turn off notifications for CrumbDB in your device’s Settings. The background check itself runs only if alerts are on.
CrumbDB Pro
Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings: Settings, your name, Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Do Not Track and selling data
We don’t sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of there. This website sets no cookies and loads no trackers.
